How to make magic reindeer feed
Santa's reindeer get carrots at every house they stop at, so why not give them something a little different at your house.We make the reindeer feed the week before christmas and on christmas eve before my son goes to bed we sprinkle the reindeer feed in our yard.This not only attracts santa's reindeer, it gets my son to bed quicker, because he knows the reindeer can smell the treat from a long distance and it makes them hurry to our house.And we all know that if you are awake when santa arrives he may not stop right away, or worse yet, he may miss your house all together!Oh, no, who wants that.So, after we sprinkle the reindeer feed he runs off to bed without any problems.
This is very easy.All you need are items you may already have in your pantry, no special trips to the store to get some exotic items.What you are looking for would be any dry ingredients that your furry friends outdoors would enjoy.Feel free to add your own special touch to this, just remember that if you are sprinkling it outside other forest friends may also partake in this snack, so make sure you are not adding anything that may be harmful to squirrels or other critters that would find this treat appealing.
Here's what i use.I have left out the actual measured amount for each item because your ingredients may have a different look to them and therefore you may need to adjust the recipe to achieve the right look.I start with a quarter cup of each(Except the glitter, use that sparingly)And add a little more of each until i get the right mix.
Once it is all done i use small zip bags to package it.I also make a quick header card for each bag so if anyone stops by with young children i can give them a bag to take home.Every year we make about 20 bags and we take them to our cub scout pack christmas party to hand out to the younger children.I get a few kids every year who remember getting my little gift the year before that ask me for more this year.They are always thrilled to get this small gift.When my son was younger i also brought it in for his class mates.They loved it!

Here's an idea, if you change up the ingredients just a little bit and add pastel glitter it would also be a great easter bunny treat.I will make a batch closer to easter and post the pictures.It should be cute.
